First Look Into Attack of the Killer Turds. Interview with Director Wayne Henrique.

I had the chance to ask director Wayne Henrique a few questions about his latest short film project Attack of the Killer Turds starring adult film star Krystal Star & Adam Theroux and reminscent of classics like Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! For more info on this film visit:

For my readers that are unfamiliar with Wayne Henrique, who is he and what is he all about?

I am just a guy who likes to make people uncomfortable. That’s the simplest way to explain myself. I tend to push things to see how far I can go with people and how far I can get them to follow me. Show me the line and see where I take it.

How did you come across the script for Attack of the Killer Turds?

I got into the project by responding to an ad on craigslist. It was titled something like ”Looking for someone to take an animated shit on camera”. That’s how I met “Attack” writer Matt Molloy, he was going to make this project with some friends of his. Unfortunately that had fallen through and after some discussion he gave me the script and a year or so later I finally had the time to start the project.

For those that need further explanation as to what the film is about, could you tell us?

Well I think the title “Attack of the Killer Turds” says it all. This is a comedy/horror short film. We tried to make something very campy and 80’s. It’s the first in a 3 part series. Attack of the Killer Turds 2: Diarrhea of the Dead is currently being written and I think we will start shooting early summer ’11.

What made you want to direct this film?

This was the first short that I have done for myself, up until this point all my projects had been for school or a client. I wanted to make this for my friends and myself. Plus I thought the script was hilarious and I was the perfect person to bring the script to screen.

What was your favorite on set experience while making this film?

Directing the shower scene with adult film actress Krystal Star. That was my first experience with a completely naked woman in front of my camera (not counting girlfriends). I was so nervous about it though, like every dude with a camera wants naked girls in front of his lens. But when you actually get to have that, your brain almost freezes up for a moment and you have to gather your thoughts on the scene and get back to work.

Honestly the whole shoot was awesome, my cast and crew are some of the raddest people I know and they worked extremely hard to help make this film a reality.

So now that you are into post production, what can we expect of Killer Turds?

Shitty acting, shitty fx, basically just a really shitty movie. In a good way though.

Any idea when you are going to have it out for our viewing pleasure?

It will be done for early October. We plan on entering it in as many festivals as possible. It has already been accepted for the 2011 Killer Film Festival.

I guess if anyone likes this and wants to fund a project of mine let me know. I have wanted to do my full length feature “Dawn of the Christ” for a while now.
